Our Alaska camping facility features clean, quiet sites located
in the beautiful forested area along the Copper River Highway.
Each site has been carefully located to provide the most privacy.
The temperate rainforests
native to the coast of Alaska forms the backdrop to a peaceful
Alaska camping setting. Towering Sitka spruce and western hemlock
trees, beautiful ferns, and abundant wildflowers are all part
of Alaska River Expeditions Campground. Mosses hang from trees
and carpet the forest floor of this attractive Alaska campground.
Wild Alaska berries can be found in season along the campground
trails, and make a great addition to your Alaska camp breakfast!
We have a reservation
office, centrally located vaulted toilets, potable water and
friendly onsite staff. Electric hookups are also available for
some sites. Firewood is avalable for sale.

Chugach National Forest – Alaska Vacations & Alaska Camping at the Finest
We are located only 13 miles from downtown Cordova at the entrance
to the Copper River Delta, and gateway to the Chugach National
Forest . What this means is you’ll be camping adjacent to the
2nd largest National Forest in the nation and the largest nesting
area for waterfowl the west coast of North America.
Our Alaska vacations offer incredible opportunities for campers
to view birds and wildlife in their native habitat, and catch
a fresh salmon to grill for dinner, right here at Alaska River
Expeditions Campground. If you’re interested in hiking on one
of our Alaska vacations, there are a variety of National Forest
trails that vary from easy to difficult depending on your interest,
also within a short drive from the campground.

Alaska Camping & Alaska Vacations - Reservations & Office
Our office is located on site. Here you’ll find helpful friendly
staff, willing to share information on local attractions. This
is also the location of our Alaska vacations tour desk, which
is where you can go to sign up for a variety of local Alaska
tours including river rafting, glacier trekking, sea kayaking,
and flight seeing. There is also a restaurant nearby, serving
lunch and dinner entrees.
Our Alaska vacations feature a staff that works to keep the
campground and all facilities clean and quiet. Keep in mind
that this is Alaska camping and wildlife is attracted to any
food odors. So even though our staff works to keep things clean,
you have a certain responsibility as an Alaska camper to keep
your campsite clean and free of food odors. Please dispose of
all trash properly.
To find us, head east
on the Copper River Highway. Take the first left past the airport
exit, just before the paved road ends. Follow the signs to our
log cabin office.
